Layout plan

The  concept  of  this  design  is  to create a minimalist home  for  a  small family. The  design features a focus on  simplicity and effortless beauty, with only essential items  on  display.  The  use  of  natural  materials  and monochromatic  colors  creates  a  sense of calm and serenity throughout the space.

Size | 1200 sq ft

Location | Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

The Victoria Towers

Materials

The materials used in this design feature monotone colors from the dining area to the parent’s room and kid’s room. The use of warm and dim lights adds to the homely feeling of the space. The focus is on natural materials like wood and stone, which create a sense of warmth and texture.

Character  is  brought  forth not  through detail. Rooms  are  mono-chromatic, featuring subdued neutrals like whites, grays, and blacks. Walls are kept simple with only one or two  decorative  pieces, like a canvas  or a  mirror. All  surfaces,  from  the kitchen to the bathroom, should  be  completely cleared off, and furniture features clean lines with  very  little  detail.  Minimalism  is  influenced  by  Japanese  Zen philosophy  and  the  aesthetic  principles of Ma and Wabi-sabi, this creates a sense of openness and reduces clutter in the space.
